Sizing can vary between artisans, styles and countries of origin. We aim to provide guidance based on general Australian sizing wherever possible.

Caring for alpaca garments
Alpaca fibres are naturally resistant to stains, odours and wrinkles, so garments do not require frequent cleaning. Always check the garment's care label before washing or cleaning.

Woven garments, coats, jackets and throws
We recommend professional dry cleaning for alpaca coats, jackets, throws and woven accessories. Take any fibre labels or swing tags with you and point out stains before cleaning.

Ask your dry cleaner to use fresh or filtered solvent, avoid tumbling where possible and use low-heat drying only.

Some garments may pill slightly after dry cleaning. This should be removed during the finishing process. When cleaning a matching set, clean all pieces at the same time to help prevent colour differences.

Knitwear, sweaters, cardigans and accessories
Hand washing is the best way to care for alpaca knitwear. Use cool water, no hotter than 29°C, with a wool wash or mild shampoo.

Rinse using water at the same temperature, as alpaca can be affected by sudden temperature changes. Do not wring, twist or agitate the garment while wet.

Gently press out excess water by rolling the garment in a towel. Reshape it and dry it flat on a clean towel, away from direct sunlight. Use a cool iron only when required.

Do not machine wash alpaca knitwear. Never hang it to dry or store it on a hanger, as this may stretch the garment. Store knitwear folded flat on a shelf or in a drawer.

Socks
Our socks are machine washable in cold water, although hand washing will help them last longer. Place socks in a laundry bag or pillowcase and allow them to air dry. Do not tumble dry.

Storage
Make sure alpaca items are clean and completely dry before storing them. Store them in a light, airy place with good airflow.

Avoid plastic, vacuum-sealed or airtight bags, as natural fibres need to breathe. For long-term storage, fold garments with tissue paper between the folds and use natural moth deterrents such as cedar, lavender or scented soaps.
