Patterns for scarves, shawls, wraps and relaxed garments generally suit alpaca particularly well. For fitted garments, you may prefer an alpaca blend containing wool for added structure and elasticity.

Yarn weights describe the general thickness of a yarn. As a guide, 4 Ply is comparable to fingering weight, while 8 Ply is comparable to DK weight.

Follow the care instructions shown in the Product Information section and on the yarn label. In most cases, alpaca yarn should be gently hand-washed in cool or tepid water using a mild wool detergent. Do not wring, twist or tumble dry. Reshape and dry flat in the shade.
